Summary: Clark and Lex through Tom Reynolds’ eyes.

The window in his office overlooked the front grounds of Smallville High. Principal Tom Reynolds sat at his desk, dark eyes watching the students poor out of the school. Watching as groups of friends headed away from the school, towards a vehicle, the bus pick-up, or down the street.  All looking wager for the upcoming weekend.

As Tom’s eyes surveyed the grounds, they fell upon a shiny silver sports car.

Tom stood, moving closer to the window.

While many students owned sports cars, there was only one man in town who drove a Porshe Carrera GT.

“Luthor.”

Lex Luthor was one man that Tom could honestly say he hated. The shark-like smirk that graced his face. The way he strolled into a room like he owned it, and expected everybody give him whatever he wanted.

As Tom watched the billionaire lean casually against a car that he himself would never be able to afford, a second figured came into his line of sight.

Clark Kent.

Tom like the young Kent boy. Clark was always polite, and while often late for school, and turned in late assignments, he was a good kid.

“But not for long. As long as he spends any time with Luthor, then that boy is headed for trouble.” Tom spoke into the empty room.

He knew Luthor was bad news. The past the billionaire still lived would only lead Clark down a bad path. Down a path to a world of drugs, sex, and pain.

“Well. I don’t intend to let that happen. The sooner Clark is made aware of just who Lex Luthor was, the better.”

Outside, Clark and Lex both slid into the low sitting car. With a roar of the powerful engine, the Carrera tore out of the parking lot and disappeared around the corner.

A frown on his face, Tom turned to large, oak desk in the middle of his office. Picking up his pen, he wrote a quick note into his day planner to have Clark come into his office for a talk on Monday.

“Luthor. I wont let you ruin another life. The boy deserves better.”

With that said, Tom returned to the large bay window to watch the last of his students leaving the school grounds.
